Mita Marra is a full-time researcher at the Italian National Research Council. Building upon her background in economics, she has obtained the Ph.D. in Public Policy from the George Washington University and the Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University. Since 1998, Mita Marra has consulted with the World Bank Institute and the Operations Evaluation Department of the World Bank, conducting evaluations on training and institutional development programs in developing countries. She is interested in the role of evaluation within the public sector, the new public management, and local development policies.

Dr. Mayne is an independent consultant. Until 2003, he was at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada where he led efforts at developing practices for effective performance measurement, managing for results, and performance reporting in the government of Canada, developing methodologies for providing audit assurance on performance reports, as well as leading the Office's audit efforts in accountability and governance. Prior to that, he was with the Treasury Board Secretariat. Dr Claus C. Rebien is Deputy Director at the Danish Evaluation Institute - EVA. He holds a Ph.d. in Evaluation from Copenhagen Business School and a M.Sc. in political science. Prior to joining EVA he spend more than 14 years in consultancy with the Danish consultant COWI. Dr Rebien has previously been employed as a programme officer at the United Nations Office in Jamaica and as an evaluation officer at UNDP headquarters in New York. He is well-versed in working in both the public and private sector, and has an international as well as national profile developed over the years by undertaking assignments internationally.
He has completed a number of evaluations of publicly funded agencies, including several UN agencies and NGOs and reviewed numerous projects and programmes. For the EU Commission he has evaluated external aid programmes (the EU-MED cooperation) and the Risk Capital Facility. He has researched and publicised in the field of evaluation since 1992 – and has been an INTEVAL member since 2000.

Olaf Rieper has an MA in sociology (1974) and a PhD in Organisation Theory from the Copenhagen School of Economics and Social Sciences (1984), and is an associate professor at the Danish Local Government Research Institute (AKF), Copenhagen, since 1985. Prior to that he was an associate professor at the Copenhagen School of Economics and Social Sciences, The University of Copenhagen, the Danish Institute of Technology, and the University of Michigan. He was awarded first prize for a monograph on Working Environment Year 2000. He has conducted evaluations and research on public programs and organisations for Danish and Norwegian government agencies and for the EU Commission. He has authored books in evaluation methods and -policy.

RAY C. RIST is with the Operations Evaluation Department (OED). Prior to coming to the World Bank in 1996, his career has included fifteen years in the United States Government with appointments in both the Executive and Legislative Branches. He also has served twelve years as a university professor with positions at The Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University, and The George Washington University. Dr. Rist was the Senior Fulbright Fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany in 1976 and 1977. He has authored or edited 23 books, written more than 125 articles, and lectured in more than 50 countries. For the past fifteen years, he has chaired an international working group with representative from seventeen countries who are collaborating on research related to evaluation and governance. He also has a four year old grand-daughter named Molly and a new grandson named Ethan.
