Mita Marra is a full-time researcher at the Italian National Research Council. Building upon her background in economics, she has obtained the Ph.D. in Public Policy from the George Washington University and the Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University. Since 1998, Mita Marra has consulted with the World Bank Institute and the Operations Evaluation Department of the World Bank, conducting evaluations on training and institutional development programs in developing countries. She is interested in the role of evaluation within the public sector, the new public management, and local development policies. |

Dr.
Mayne is an independent consultant. Until 2003, he was at the Office
of the Auditor General of Canada where he led efforts at developing
practices for effective performance measurement, managing for results,
and performance reporting in the government of Canada, developing methodologies
for providing audit assurance on performance reports, as well as leading
the Office's audit efforts in accountability and governance. Prior to
that, he was with the Treasury Board Secretariat. He has authored numerous
articles and reports, and edited five books in the areas of program
evaluation, public administration and performance monitoring

Burt Perrin, an independent consultant based in France, has some 30 years' practical experience internationally in evaluation, policy and programme development, and strategic planning, on behalf of governments at all levels, international organisations, NGOs and the private sector. Burt places strong emphasis on taking a practical approach, so that evaluation is most likely to result in action. C. Rebien holds a Ph.D. in Evaluation Theory and Methodology from Copenhagen
Business School, and an MA in Political Science and Public Administration
from University of Copenhagen. He was the Tietgen Prize Award winner,
1996.
Dr Rebien is Chief Projects Manager in
COWI's Division for Economics and Management. He has more than 15
years of experience in planning, implementing and evaluating projects,
programmes and organisations.

Rieper

Olaf Rieper has an MA in sociology (1974)
and a PhD in Organisation Theory from the Copenhagen Business School
of Economics and Social Sciences (1984), and is Director of research
at the Danish Institute of Government at Research Institute (AKF),
Copenhagen. Prior to that he was an associate professor at the Copenhagen
Business School, the Danish Institute of Technology, and the University
of Michigan. He was awarded first prize for a monograph on Working
Environment Year 2000. He has conducted evaluations and research on
public programs and organisations for Danish and Norwegian government
agencies and for the EU Commission. He has authored books in evaluation
methods and -policy.

RAY
C. RIST is with the Operations Evaluation Department (OED). Prior
to coming to the World Bank in 1996, his career has included fifteen
years in the United States Government with appointments in both the
Executive and Legislative Branches. He also has served twelve years
as a university professor with positions at The Johns Hopkins University,
Cornell University, and The George Washington University. Dr. Rist was
the Senior Fulbright Fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany
in 1976 and 1977. He has authored or edited 23 books, written more than
125 articles, and lectured in more than 50 countries. For the past fifteen
years, he has chaired an international working group with representative
from seventeen countries who are collaborating on research related to
evaluation and governance. He also has a four year old grand-daughter
named Molly and a new grandson named Ethan.

a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
He is expert in evaluation and public management questions at the Swedish
Financial Management Authority and author of many books and articles
in the area of policy instruments, evaluation and management by results.

Bob Segsworth has been a member of INTEVAL since its inception. He is editor of The Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation/ La revue canadienne dévaluation de programme. He has published articles and chapters on evaluation in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Currently, he is Professor of Political Science at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Current research centres on performance indicators, accountability and local government and Canadian public administrations perception of evaluation. |
